What is Ceramic Proppant? 


Ceramic proppant, also known as ceramic sand, is a man-made sand-like material with uniform size and shape as well as superior strength. With super conductivity and permeability, ceramic proppants enable free flow of gas and oil down the hole. Therefore, ceramic proppant is believed to be the most cost effective sand, in sharp contrast to  silica sand and resin-coated sand. 


Why Ceramic Proppants?


Study and statistics show that wells fracked with different types of proppant will have a similar initial output of oil or gas for the first few months, but well pumped with natural silica sand or resin coated sand generally will see a sharp decline of output 6 months or so after fracking, while wells pumped with ceramic proppants will generate much higher and steadier output for a much longer life time.
